About RedShift Online
RedShift Online began life in 2010 as RedShift Radio. Founded by Liz Parkin and Gavin Hammond (Gavin left in 2012), RedShift was a not-for-profit online community radio station.
At it's peak RedShift was broadcasting over 70+ hours of live output a week and around 30 hours of repeats, with all shows being presented by volunteers. Listen to past shows via Mixcloud and Soundcloud.
Since 2010, in excess of 600 people from all walks of life have been trained to produce and present radio with over 400 of these aged between 8 - 18 years old.
The life skills that learning to present a radio show are easy to see in each of the presenters and RedShift calls them the 4C's - Confidence, Communication, Collaboration and Creativity.
In 2020, Liz, herself a volunteer director along with a small management team, took the bold step to scale back the non-profit organisation to provide a smaller offering of Podcasts rather than live shows.
RedShift Online is now a Community Podcast Network, still based at Regent's Park on London Road, less than half a mile from Nantwich Town Centre.
Many of the live radio presenters have morphed seamlessly across to podcasting and several new podcasters have joined the team.
