Back to the Future
... an inter-generational project
Back to the Future is an inter-generational project whereby people over 70 and under 20 are encouraged to meet and enjoy activities together to help combat social isolation in older people. Thanks to a grant from Cheshire Community Foundation, we have been able to launch the project with four activities: Afternoon Tea & Quiz, Games Afternoon, Radio interview and a Craft Afternoon.
The young volunteers were encouraged to think of the activities, plan, budget and book the venues and do the shopping. We worked with Stapeley House Tea Rooms, Richmond Village and Nantwich Museum and over 60 people took part in the project.
We are hoping to continue the project with a regular monthly meetup and are in the process of raising the funds to do so.
