Acton Arts Festival is to be held on the weekend of 14th, 15th and 16th July at St Mary's Church, Acton, titled 'Creation and Creativity'. The aim of the festival is to promote community cohesion and generally give the opportunity for Acton's very talented community to share their skills with each other. The local primary school and high school are particularly talented at art, and it was for the purpose of sharing their fabulous artwork with the community that first started the annual Acton Art Festival. The festival will comprise of works of art from: Malbank High School, Acton CE primary School, local art groups, there will also be displays of the 7 days of creation from individuals and groups, and many 'have a go' mini workshops ranging from working with clay to embroidery, children's book reading, and a collaborative piece of art constructed during the exhibition for everyone to add to. We will also have teas served all weekend. Mark Sheeky and Deborah Edgeley will perform on Friday the 14th at 3pm, and on the Saturday evening a charity concert takes place. The concert will comprise of voluntary performances by The Funky Choir, the Worleston Music School and a community dance group from Malbank High School.
